The screen of F.E.M a specialised app that helps women from underrepresented backgrounds to find mentors
Project description:
A 70-hour-long design challenge in which my team and I researched, ideated and prototyped an app designed to empower creative migrant women, helping them find career support and advice in a new country of residence.
The users of our app are underrepresented creative migrants who identify as female.
The app aims to solve the isolation experienced in a new country and tackle self-esteem issues related to alienation.
Through the app, users can access mentorship programs with mentors who are bilingual and/or have been through similar situations (e.g. moving to another country), training lessons, reviews and advice for overcoming language barriers.
Our app will help users feel more confident in their new surroundings by providing initial tips and guidance. It will facilitate networking, and encourage them to keep up-to-date with new trends and training opportunities.
Our users' intended audiences are brands, creative organisations, cultural institutions and affinity groups.
Our app provides a place of safety for women from diverse cultural backgrounds and countries, enabling them to thrive and feel empowered to work within a new market, for example, the UK.
